KITP Workshop: Physics of Dense Suspensions

KITP Workshop: Physics of Dense Suspensions

Physics of Dense Suspensions Jan 16, 2018 - Apr 6, 2018 Coordinators: Bulbul Chakraborty, Emanuela Del Gado, and Jeff Morris Scientific Advisors: Wilson Poon Dense, or high-solid-loading, suspensions of particulates in liquids are found in a range of applications across many industrial sectors and in geophysical flows. The size range of the particles may vary from the colloidal (say, 10 nm to 10 μm, where Brownian motion dominates) to the granular (say, 10 μm to 10 mm).
15th Annual Northeastern Granular Materials Workshop

15th Annual Northeastern Granular Materials Workshop

The Northeastern Granular Materials Workshop (NEGW) The NEGW will be held at Nanoscale Mechanics Laboratory, Northeastern University on June 2nd, 2017. NEGW is designed to bring researchers and students in the North East (New England, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania) together to discuss their work on granular materials and explore collaborations. The workshop features pedagogical talks, short contributed talks, and poster sessions. The workshop website is here. The talks and poster sessions will take place in McCleod suites, rooms 318, 320, and 322, Curry Student Center.
2017 European Symposium on Comminution and Classification

2017 European Symposium on Comminution and Classification

The European Symposium on Comminution and Classification will be held in İzmir, Turkey between 11 – 14 September 2017. ESCC 2017 will develop the themes from previous ESCCs, covering processing of minerals, ores and cement, grinding, dispersing and classification, new and non-classical applications, fundamentals and modelling & simulation of comminution. The symposium offers an excellent opportunity to share knowledge and experience between researchers, industry professionals and suppliers. Please visit the symposium website for further information and registration details.
2017 91st ACS Colloids Meeting

2017 91st ACS Colloids Meeting

9th-12th July 2017, The City College of New York, USA The 91st annual meeting of the American Chemical Society Division of Colloid and Surface Chemistry will highlight the latest scientific advances in colloid and surface science, its intersection with other scientific domains such as biophysics and environmental science, and its application in biotechnology, coatings, functional nanomaterials, and other diverse areas. The conference is traditionally organized and hosted by a university, and thrives on strong international attendance by participants from academia, industry and national laboratories.
